THE ART OF NOTICING IN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

In a world of viral reels and wedding photo trends, it’s easy to focus on what’s popular. But the art of noticing in wedding photography is about something deeper. It’s meaningful, unscripted moments that are true to each couple and captured with every intention of making you feel something.

We all love an insta-worthy editorial portrait. But, the heart of powerful wedding photography goes way beyond the shot list. It’s the quiet squeeze of a hand before or during the ceremony, the proud glance from a parent during speeches, the way a dress is gently fixed by a bridesmaid just seconds before walking down the aisle or even an emotional tear.

The moments that are completely un-staged, unexpected and often not even noticed on a wedding day.

Of course, there’s always time for fun, stylish, posey and candid photos - they absolutely have their place. But, the small, un-missed moments in between are often the most powerful. That’s where intentional observation comes in. That’s what we love.

This is also why having two photographers can make such a difference! Whilst one of us captures the big, “shot list” moments, the other is free to notice the subtle interactions happening quietly in the background.

Years from now, trends will fade, but the meaningful moments will last a lifetime.
